What to bring?
The essential checklist for your Newborn Photo Shoot.
Welcome to the enchanting world of Newborn Photography! Here at AnA Photography we are thrilled to be a part of capturing your precious moments with your new baby. To help you plan ahead for your session we have prepared a helpful checklist of things to bring to your newborn photo shoot.
We know all to well how much having a baby throws all of your planning and preparations into the air – so hopefully this list will help you through the chaos as you settle into your new routines!
1. The most important thing: You and Your Baby!
First and foremost, bring yourselves and your adorable baby! Your presence and love are the most crucial elements for creating beautiful and heartwarming photographs. We are here to capture the unique bond between you and your little one, creating memories to treasure forever.
2. Plenty of milk!
If your little one is bottle fed, be sure to bring lots of milk. Newborns may have unpredictable feeding patterns, and they may need to eat more frequently during the session. Having plenty of milk on hand means we can ensure your baby remains content and comfortable throughout the shoot. We can supply hot water to warm / make formula up if needed!
3. Nappies, wipes and essentials.
Remember to bring all the usual supplies for baby’s comfort, such as nappies, wipes, muslins, blankets etc. For most of the session your baby will be in a nappy, and some of the posing positions really help ‘move things through’ so it’s always worth having plenty of spares!
We have plenty of absorbent mats and warm water to hand for cleaning if needed.
4. Dummies!
Even if your little one doesn’t generally use a dummy, it may help settle them during their session so we would always recommend bringing one along. It’s just one more tool in our arsenal of ways to get babies to sleep!
5. Personal Touches and Props
Aimiee has an addiction to props and blankets. We have loads in almost any colour you can imagine. Other than the items listed above, you don’t need to bring anything else unless you want to, as we will have it covered. However – you are more than welcome to bring along something you would like included in the photos.
This can be something linked to your careers or hobbies, or something that’s personal and meaningful to you.
Examples we have previously had include Motorbike Helmets, Guitars, Saddles, Tools, Sports Equipment, Special Blankets etc.
6. Entertainment for Older Siblings
We love to include older siblings in the photo sessions. It’s a good idea to bring items to keep them entertained during breaks when they are not in front of the camera. There’s wifi access if needed, and we can also pop a film on the TV for them to enjoy.
Sit back, Relax and Let Us Work Our Magic
Many of our parents comment on how the session is the first time they’ve really been able to just sit and chill since the arrival of their baby. We want you to be able to just sit back, relax and enjoy the experience. Aimiee is called the baby whisperer for a reason, and we will ensure your baby is comfortable and safe throughout the shoot. Trust in our expertise and let us work our magic to capture stunning images that showcase the beauty and innocence of your newborn.
At AnA Photography we understand the importance of creating a warm and inviting environment for your newborn baby photo shoot.
This checklist will help you ensure you have everything you need for a memorable and enjoyable session. From the essentials to the personal touches, we are here to make your experience as seamless and stress-free as possible so we can capture the unique beauty and love within your family, resulting in photographs that will be treasured for a lifetime.
